In order to be able to press a threaded bolt into a sheet metal, a drill hole or circular pocket with a defined diameter and a defined depth must first be made in the sheet metal. This bag is preferably made on a CNC milling machine.

We have many years of experience in pressing in threaded bolts. Particularly when pressing bolts into aluminum sheet, the highest level of precision is required when creating the press hole pocket.

Accuracy can only be ensured by using modern CNC machines. MWM has a variety of CNC milling machines that correspond to the state of the art and therefore carry out the correct preparatory work when pressing in threaded bolts.

Why do you need precise milling? A press-in bolt has a so-called toothing that runs all around perpendicular to the radius of the press-in surface. The diameter of the teeth is defined to be larger than the diameter of the milled pocket where the bolt is pressed in.

When the threaded bolt is pressed in, this toothing cuts into the sheet metal and gets caught so tightly that the bolt could only be torn out again with the greatest of force.
